Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across Odisha until July 15, 2026, due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal.
Several districts are expected to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy showers.
A yellow alert has been issued for northern and coastal districts including Cuttack, Khordha, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Balasore, and Sundargarh.
Residents are advised to remain cautious during thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, Kandhamal district has been placed under an orange alert on Wednesday, with IMD warning of heavy rainfall at isolated places.
The weather office cautioned that the downpour may lead to waterlogging, reduced visibility, and disruption of normal activities.
The IMD has urged people in vulnerable areas to take necessary precautions and stay updated with official advisories.
