Odisha Braces for Heavy Monsoon Rains: IMD Issues Alerts

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts across 29 districts of Odisha as monsoon rains intensify.

Nine districts are under orange alert, while 21 districts face yellow warnings.

Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning has already been reported in several northern and southern regions.

Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Bhadrak are expected to witness particularly heavy showers, while Koraput has been flagged for severe rainfall tomorrow.

The IMD has placed the entire state under a yellow alert for thunderstorms in the coming 24 hours.

In the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, residents can expect cloudy skies and intermittent showers over the next six days.

Authorities have urged people to remain cautious, especially in vulnerable districts, as Odisha enters a critical phase of the monsoon season.
