Odisha Begins Voter Roll Revision Ahead of Local Polls
The Odisha State Election Commission has launched a massive voter roll revision exercise in preparation for the upcoming panchayat and municipal elections.
Sub‑Collectors will act as Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), assisted by Block Development Officers (BDOs) as Assistant EROs, to oversee the process at the grassroots level.
Applications for inclusion, deletion, and correction of voter details will be scrutinised at the Sub‑Collector’s office, with appeals directed to District Collectors.
For urban local bodies, Additional Commissioners will serve as EROs in municipal corporations, while Zonal Deputy Commissioners and Executive Officers will function as Assistant EROs in municipalities and NACs.
The revision aims to ensure accuracy and transparency in voter lists, signalling intensified preparations for Odisha’s upcoming elections.
Awareness drives and verification campaigns are expected to follow, strengthening democratic participation across the state.
