Odisha Agriculture Dept Seals MoUs to Boost Farming in 2026‑27

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Agriculture Department has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with four state corporations — OAIC, APICOL, OSSC, and OSCDCL — to strengthen agricultural initiatives for the financial year 2026‑27.

Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo presided over the signing ceremony, urging close coordination and adoption of modern technology to boost farmer incomes.

  • OAIC will procure 54,000 tonnes of fertilisers, 8,400 tractors, and 1,200 power tillers, while installing 6,240 electric lift irrigation points and 1,200 tubewells under Jalanidhi.
  • It also targets horticulture sales worth Rs 24 crore and a turnover of Rs 1,200 crore.
  • APICOL will establish 1,659 commercial enterprises with Rs 330 crore in capital subsidy, allocate Rs 300 crore under Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana, and provide Rs 30 crore for cold storage assistance.
  • OSCDCL will replant hybrid cashew over 500 hectares, maintain 761.22 hectares of plantations, and focus on branding and marketing.
  • OSSC will produce and supply high‑yielding, climate‑resilient seeds, conduct joint training for officials and seed farmers, and promote short‑duration crops.

The MoUs aim to modernise agriculture, enhance productivity, and ensure sustainable growth for Odisha’s farming community.
