Nursing Students’ Protest Sparks Chaos at FM University

Baleshwar, Odisha: Nursing students from a private college staged a dramatic sit‑in at Fakir Mohan University (FMU) demanding their pending seventh and eighth semester examinations.

The protest, which began at 9 AM and continued until midnight, highlighted years of frustration as students alleged neglect of their academic future.

The unrest escalated when Vice‑Chancellor Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy visited the protest site.

His health deteriorated during the confrontation, requiring hospital treatment.

Students further accused university students of assault and claimed the VC misbehaved with their parents the previous day.

Police and university officials intervened to restore order, while the protesting students insisted on immediate exam schedules and accountability.

Authorities assured that steps would be taken soon to resolve the issue.
