Nor’wester Storms to Lash Odisha Till June 10
Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Bhubaneswar, has forecast that Nor’wester activity will persist across Odisha until June 10, bringing thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds to several districts.
An Orange Warning has been issued for Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore, where gusty winds reaching 50–60 kmph are expected.
Additionally, a Yellow Warning has been declared for 15 districts, predicting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and winds of 40–50 kmph.
The southwest monsoon is advancing steadily across India, covering parts of the Arabian Sea, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
Meteorologists are closely monitoring evolving weather systems in eastern and southern India.
Authorities have advised residents to avoid sheltering under trees during thunderstorms, remain indoors during lightning activity, and secure loose outdoor items against strong winds.
