Nine Ornaments of Lord Jagannath Verified in Audit

Bhubaneswar: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has confirmed the successful counting of nine ornaments belonging to Lord Jagannath during the ongoing Ratnalankar audit.

The verification matched the 1978 inventory list, ensuring transparency in the temple’s record‑keeping.

Among the ornaments audited were three major pieces — Chita (gem‑studded), Shua Thantia, and Rupa Rasika.

Officials conducted weight measurement, videography, photography, and 3D mapping to maintain accuracy.

The ornaments used during Snana Purnima were handed over to the Bhandar Mekap for safekeeping.

One set of Jhoba remains with the Lord on the Sri Anga, while another is held by the Bhandar Mekap.

Temple authorities described the process as smooth and successful, reaffirming their commitment to preserving the priceless heritage of Lord Jagannath’s ornaments.
