Mastermind Arrested in Puri Gang Rape Case; Hunt On for Three Accomplices
Puri, April 16: Police have arrested 22-year-old Satyabrat Parida, alleged mastermind behind the gang rape of a college student.
He was intercepted at Jajpur Road Railway Station after being tracked from Delhi.
Parida, a native of Kalyanipur in Jajpur, worked in Delhi and was acquainted with the survivor, who hails from the same district and is pursuing studies in Cuttack.
In February, Parida and three associates allegedly abducted her, took her to Puri, checked into a hotel, drugged her, and committed the crime.
The survivor lodged a complaint at Cantonment Police Station after regaining consciousness.
A high-level probe has been launched, with raids underway in Jajpur to nab the three absconding accomplices. Parida is currently under interrogation.
