Balasore School Scare: Gun Found in Class 8 Student’s Bag
Balasore, Odisha – Panic gripped Srijanga High School in Remuna after a gun was discovered in the school bag of a Class 8 student.
The incident unfolded just before school closed when another student noticed the weapon and alerted teachers.
Khantapada police, arriving in plain clothes, faced resistance from locals but eventually seized the gun.
Preliminary checks suggest the firearm may be a replica, though it has been sent to a forensic lab for confirmation.
Police officer Anurag Mohanty stated that the weapon appeared fake, pending lab results.
The student claimed he found the gun during idol immersion at a local festival. The revelation left students frightened and parents deeply concerned, sparking widespread discussions in the village.
This marks the second gun-related incident in Remuna in recent weeks, raising serious questions about student safety and school security.
With the President scheduled to visit the area soon, police and administration are on high alert.
