Kendrapara Youth Killed in Group Clash Over Moringa Leaves

Kendrapara district witnessed a tragic incident when a dispute over plucking moringa leaves escalated into a violent clash, resulting in the death of a youth.

The confrontation began between brothers Prabhakar Nayak and Pratap Nayak in Ishanipalli village under Rajnagar police station.

The quarrel intensified when Pratap’s son, Sushant Nayak, mobilised 10–15 youths from nearby villages and attacked Prabhakar’s elder son.

During the clash, Kailash Mallick sustained severe stab injuries.

Despite being rushed to Rajnagar Community Health Centre and later Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Authorities revealed that the families were already embroiled in a land dispute pending in court, which may have contributed to the escalation.
