IIMC New Delhi Hosts Media Training for OIS Officers

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) successfully conducted a five-day Media and Communication training programme for Odisha Information Service (OIS) officers from June 29 to July 3, 2026.

Nineteen officers from different batches participated, including PROs serving in ministries, RDC offices, district headquarters, and sub-divisional offices.

The course focused on media management, public relations, strategic communication, digital communication, AI in media, and public outreach.

Sessions were led by experts from IIMC, Press Information Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Prasar Bharati, and national media.

At the valedictory ceremony, Chief Guest Jaideep Bhatnagar, former DG of PIB, emphasised communication as a vital tool for public service and development.

IIMC dignitaries, including Vice-Chancellor Dr Pragya Paliwal Gaur and Prof. Sunetra Sen Narayan, also engaged with participants.

Officers expressed that the training will strengthen their communication skills and contribute to Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047.

Certificates were awarded, and faculty members were felicitated.

The Odisha I&PR Department announced plans to depute more officers to IIMC and other institutions for similar capacity-building programmes.
