Honeybee Attack at Balasore School Leaves Teachers Injured, Classes Suspended

Balasore, April 16: A sudden honeybee attack at Shishu Mandir, Nilagiri created panic on Thursday morning, leaving three teachers and a student injured.

Teachers Krushna Chandra Hota, Prabhamanjari Nayak, and Deeptimayi Prusti sustained multiple stings while trying to protect students.

Hota’s condition is reported to be critical.

The incident began when bees attacked a girl student entering the school with her father, prompting staff to intervene.

The chaos forced authorities to suspend classes and declare a holiday. The injured were rushed to Nilagiri Hospital for treatment.

Local residents expressed concern over the bees’ unusual aggression, and experts are expected to investigate the cause.
