Hirakud Dam Opens 7 Gates, Outflow Declines
Sambalpur: Authorities at Hirakud Dam have kept seven sluice gates open — five on the left and two on the right — as the reservoir level reached 622.19 feet.
The average inflow has declined to 1,84,370 cusecs, while the outflow stands at 1,45,706 cusecs.
Outflow distribution includes 1,10,824 cusecs via spillway, 31,941 cusecs through the power channel, 229 cusecs for industrial use, and 2,712 cusecs through canals.
Downstream river gauges at Belgaon, Patharla, Khairmal, Barmul, and Mundali indicate a declining discharge trend.
Dam authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to manage flood control and ensure safety downstream.
