Food Safety Raid in Jaipur Ahead of Raksha Bandhan

Jaipur: In a coordinated effort to ensure public health during the festive season, the Food Safety Department and Jaipur Municipality carried out surprise inspections of hotels, sweet shops, and bakeries across the city.

The drive began at the Omfed stall, where paneer quality was checked, and extended to several establishments.

Officials discovered unhygienic kitchen conditions and lapses in food license renewals. Penalties ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000 were imposed on violators.

Samples of khua, chhena, paneer, and sweets were collected and sent for laboratory testing.

Preliminary checks revealed no chemical adulteration in paneer, but final reports will determine further legal action.

The inspection was supervised by Food Safety Officer Pankajini Dehuri and Jaipur Municipality’s Executive Officer Pooja Raut, following a report published on August 25 that raised concerns about paneer hygiene.

This proactive measure aims to safeguard consumers during Raksha Bandhan, when demand for sweets and dairy products surges.
