Floods Wash Away NH‑20 in Chandbali, Bhadrak
Relentless floods in Chandbali, Bhadrak district, have severely damaged National Highway‑20, cutting off a vital lifeline for thousands of residents.
Nearly one kilometre of the highway has been washed away, with around 300 feet of concrete road near Bodak village collapsing into deep craters.
The highway, which connects Aradi in Bhadrak to Kuakhia in Jajpur and further links to Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, has been impassable for the past 20 days.
Villagers and devotees travelling to Baba Akhandalamani temple are facing immense hardship due to the suspension of traffic.
Local residents have appealed to authorities for urgent restoration, warning that prolonged disruption will worsen isolation and economic distress in the region.
