Excise Team Seizes 120 Kg Ganja in Boudh
Boudh, Odisha: In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics, the Excise Department seized 120 kilograms of ganja worth Rs 12 lakh near San Babada jungle under Boudh police limits.
Acting on instructions from Collector Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak and Excise Superintendent Shanti Marandi, the excise team intercepted the contraband during routine patrolling.
The seized ganja was promptly produced before the court the same afternoon for legal proceedings.
The operation was spearheaded by Inspector Dilip Kumar Satapathy, supported by Excise Officer Satya Narayan Pradhan and staff members including Loknath Bhoi, Anand Chandra Meher, Anjali Amat, Hrushikesh Barik, Kailash Sahu, and Niranjan Mallik.
Authorities estimate the market value of the confiscated ganja at Rs 12 lakh, underscoring the scale of Odisha’s ongoing fight against smuggling networks.
