Daringbadi Picnic Turns Chaotic as Youth Groups Clash in Duluri Pine Forest

Daringbadi, often celebrated as the “Kashmir of Odisha” for its misty hills and pine-covered landscapes, witnessed unexpected turmoil on Sunday when a picnic outing spiralled into a violent clash.

According to eyewitnesses, a minor disagreement between two groups of youths at the Duluri Pine Forest quickly escalated into heated scuffles. Punches were exchanged, and crowds gathered around buses and cars as tensions flared.

A video circulating on social media shows the chaos, with individuals grappling and shoving while police officers rushed to intervene.

Authorities deployed a mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd and restore order. Several youths were detained, though no serious injuries were reported. Preliminary investigations suggest the dispute may have stemmed from personal rivalries or arguments over space.

The Duluri Pine Forest, a popular tourist destination in Kandhamal district, attracts thousands of visitors each year for its serene atmosphere and natural beauty.

However, the incident underscores the need for stricter regulations to ensure safety and preserve the peaceful charm of Odisha’s hill station.

Local police have confirmed that those detained are being questioned, and further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
