Cuttack Rural Police Arrest Looters, Recover Ornaments Worth ₹14 Crore
Cuttack, April 16: In a major breakthrough, Cuttack rural police have arrested two notorious criminals — Rajesh Khuntia and Sushant Swain — along with eight receivers, recovering stolen property worth over ₹14 crore.
The seized items include gold ornaments worth ₹1.4 crore, silver ornaments worth ₹8 lakh, cash of ₹61,600, two luxury cars, walkie-talkies, and burglary tools.
Police revealed that the duo had 47 cases registered across multiple stations, operating by breaking into houses at night, terrorizing residents, and selling valuables through receivers.
The operation was launched after a complaint in Natakai village under Nischintakoili PS, with the arrests made under the supervision of Salepur SDPO’s team and SP Vineet Agrawal.
Officials hailed this as one of the largest loot recoveries in recent times in Cuttack rural.
