CS Anu Garg Stresses Synergy for Stronger Coastal Security in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police’s Coastal Security Wing hosted the State-Level Coastal Security Conference–2026 at Police Bhawan, highlighting the state’s growing maritime importance.
Chief Secretary Anu Garg, addressing the valedictory session, emphasised that coastal security is integral to realising the vision of a Samruddha Odisha (Prosperous Odisha).
She noted that with new ports, fish landing centres, industrial projects, and maritime infrastructure, Odisha’s coastline is becoming increasingly strategic.
While challenges remain, she urged departments and agencies to work in synergy to ensure safety and resilience.
The government, she said, is committed to strengthening the Coastal Security Wing through modern technology, human resource development, and infrastructure creation.
Plans include adopting advanced surveillance systems, enhancing disaster preparedness, and improving coordination among stakeholders to safeguard Odisha’s coastal communities and economic assets.
