CRS Clears Baiguda–Kakiriguma Doubling Section for Operations

Koraput: The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), South Eastern Circle, Shri Brijesh Kumar Mishra, has successfully inspected the Baiguda–Kakiriguma doubling section under the Koraput–Singapur Road Doubling Project of East Coast Railway’s Rayagada Division.

The inspection, conducted on July 9–10, covered track geometry, bridges, signalling and telecommunication systems, overhead electrification, and other safety infrastructure.

Motor trolley checks and speed trials were carried out to ensure operational readiness.

Following the inspection, the 12.385 km section has been commissioned for train operations, marking a significant boost to rail capacity and connectivity in southern Odisha.

Senior officials from East Coast Railway Headquarters, Rayagada Division, and the Construction Organisation were present during the inspection.

This commissioning underscores East Coast Railway’s commitment to timely completion of infrastructure projects, enhancing freight and passenger movement, and ensuring safer, faster, and more reliable rail services in the region.
