Consumers to Pay More as OMFED Revises Milk Rates

Bhubaneswar, Oct 2: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) has announced a revision in retail milk prices across the state, effective October 4, 2026.

Under the new rates, Toned Milk will cost ₹58 per litre, up from ₹54, while Premium Milk will rise to ₹60 per litre from ₹58.

The price of Gold Plus Milk has also been increased to ₹66 per litre from ₹64. Smaller 500 ml packets will see proportional hikes of ₹1–₹2.

OMFED officials stated that the hike follows an increase in procurement rates paid to dairy farmers by ₹2 per litre from September 11.

Rising costs of cattle feed, production, and transportation have further contributed to the revision.

This adjustment is expected to impact households across Odisha, where OMFED milk is a staple, while also supporting dairy farmers facing higher input costs.
