Cold Wave Returns to Odisha: Temperatures to Drop Sharply Over Next 2–3 Days

Odisha is bracing for a fresh spell of cold wave conditions as minimum temperatures are expected to fall by 2–3°C over the next two to three days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that severe cold conditions will prevail, particularly during the night and early morning hours.

Officials noted that the recent cloud cover linked to a deep depression had temporarily raised temperatures across the state.

With the system weakening and skies clearing, cold conditions are set to intensify again starting today.

The IMD has advised residents, especially vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, outdoor workers, and people experiencing homelessness, to take precautions.

Warm clothing, limited exposure during early mornings and late nights, and adherence to official advisories are strongly recommended.

Authorities have also cautioned that no significant improvement in temperatures is expected in the immediate future, making this cold wave a continuing concern for Odisha.
