CM Majhi Hails Padma Shri Award for Eminent Odia Litterateur
Bhubaneswar: Eminent Odia researcher and litterateur Dr Mahendra Kumar Mishra has been conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri Award 2026.
President Droupadi Murmu presented the honour at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr Mishra, describing the recognition as a matter of pride for the state.
He lauded Mishra’s lifelong contributions to literature and education, which have enriched Odia culture and inspired generations.
The Chief Minister also offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, wishing Dr Mishra a long, healthy, and successful life.
The award marks a significant milestone in Odisha’s literary and academic landscape, highlighting the state’s rich intellectual heritage.
