Champua Clerk Jailed for Cement Scam
Bhubaneswar/Keonjhar: In a significant anti‑corruption verdict, the Special Vigilance Court, Keonjhar, has convicted former Champua Block Development Clerk‑cum‑Store In‑Charge, Sarat Chandra Nanda, for misappropriation of government cement stock and manipulation of official records between 2004 and 2006.
Nanda was sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and relevant IPC sections (409, 468, 471).
The Odisha Vigilance investigation revealed that he falsified stock registers and diverted materials for personal gain.
