Car Rams Odisha Assembly Barricade, Two Detained
Bhubaneswar, July 8: A late‑night scare unfolded outside the Odisha Legislative Assembly when a car rammed into a security barricade on Tuesday.
The vehicle, reportedly driven by an intoxicated individual, was stopped just short of entering the Assembly premises.
Police and Special Tactical Group (STG) commandos swiftly sealed the area and conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle.
Two persons connected to the incident were detained for questioning.
Authorities emphasised that the barricade prevented a potential disaster, but the breach has raised serious concerns about security lapses around the Assembly complex.
A detailed investigation is underway to determine whether negligence or deliberate intent was involved.
