Bhadrak Junior Engineer Arrested in Disproportionate Assets Case

Bhubaneswar/Bhadrak: Odisha Vigilance has arrested Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Junior Engineer of the Command Area Development Division, Bhadrak, for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Acting on credible information, Vigilance teams conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations linked to Mohanty.

The searches revealed two multi‑storeyed buildings, seven plots, Rs 1.73 lakh in cash, 350 grams of gold ornaments, and bank deposits worth Rs 19.46 lakh.

The case has been registered as Balasore Vigilance PS Case No. 6/2026 under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.

Mohanty was taken into custody and will be produced before the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore.

Investigators are verifying ownership documents, bank accounts, and other property records to establish the mismatch between his official earnings and accumulated wealth.

Vigilance officials confirmed that further inquiry is underway.
