Beggar-Clad Gang Busted at Bhubaneswar Station, Gold Worth ₹20 Lakh Seized

Bhubaneswar, May 27: Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials arrested two women at Bhubaneswar railway station who had been disguising themselves as beggars to loot unsuspecting passengers.

Acting on surveillance inputs, the RPF intercepted the duo and recovered gold ornaments worth nearly Rs 20 lakh.

Investigations revealed that the women operated by mingling with crowds on busy platforms, snatching ornaments from passengers, and attempting to smuggle the stolen valuables through trains.

The gang had been active at the station for several days, raising concerns among commuters.

Authorities have intensified monitoring at major stations to curb such crimes.

Passengers and railway staff praised the swift action, while officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to identify other members of the gang.
