Angul Wedding Feast Turns Sour: Over 25 Guests Hospitalized After Suspected Food Poisoning

Angul: A wedding celebration in Tubey village, Angul district, took a tragic turn when more than 25 guests fell ill after consuming food at the feast.

Within hours of the meal, attendees reported symptoms including diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach pain, and fever.

Nearly 20 patients were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, while others sought treatment at private facilities. Over 15 remain under medical care, though most are reported to be stable.

Health officials suspect food poisoning caused by contaminated food or water. A medical team has been deployed to collect leftover food and water samples for laboratory testing.

Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted to prevent similar outbreaks in the future.

The incident has sparked concern about food safety at community gatherings, with officials urging vigilance and timely medical response to safeguard public health.
