YouTuber Tapi Mishra Booked for Derogatory Remarks Against Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: A major controversy erupted after YouTuber Tapi Mishra allegedly posted derogatory remarks and an insulting image of Dr B.R. Ambedkar on social media.
The post sparked outrage among several Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) organisations in the city, who condemned the act as deeply offensive and disrespectful to the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Leaders of United SC/ST organisations lodged a formal complaint at the Capital Police Station, demanding Mishra’s immediate arrest.
They issued a 48‑hour ultimatum to the authorities, warning of mass protests—including gherao of the police station and the Commissioner’s office—if action is not taken.
This is not the first time Mishra has faced criticism for controversial online content.
Community leaders stressed that repeated incidents of such derogatory posts cannot be tolerated and urged strict legal measures to prevent further attempts at defaming national icons.
As of now, neither Mishra nor the police has released an official statement. The matter remains under investigation, with growing pressure from community organisations for swift action.
