Venkatesh Prasad Finds Solace at Puri’s Jagannath Temple, Calls Visit Truly Special
Puri, — Former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad offered prayers at the revered Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, describing the experience as “truly special” and deeply spiritual.
Speaking to the media after the darshan, Prasad said, “It’s one of the iconic places for all of us—not for one particular community, it’s for everybody.
hatever happens, it’s only by God’s grace… I’m extremely happy to be here in Puri and to have the darshan of Jagannath Ji.”
Known for his stellar performances in the 1990s, Prasad has long expressed his spiritual beliefs. His visit comes amid a surge in devotees at the 12th-century temple, one of India’s Char Dham pilgrimage sites.
The temple, dedicated to Lord Jagannath—a form of Lord Vishnu—continues to draw pilgrims from across the country, reinforcing its status as a spiritual cornerstone of Indian culture.
