Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Leads Tiranga Yatra in Berhampur, Honors August Kranti Diwas
Berhampur, (OT Webdesk) — Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan marked August Kranti Diwas by leading a spirited Tiranga Yatra in Berhampur, paying homage to freedom fighters and invoking the legacy of the Quit India Movement.
Addressing the gathering, Pradhan emphasised that August Kranti Diwas was not merely a historical event but a symbol of unwavering belief and courage in India’s fight for independence.
He recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s iconic “Do or Die” call from Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan in 1942, which galvanized the nation against British rule.
The minister offered floral tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and urged citizens to reignite patriotism as India approaches its 79th Independence Day.
He echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a “Viksit Odisha” and “Viksit Bharat,” calling for unity and self-reliance to elevate India’s global standing.
Pradhan also advocated for a mass movement promoting indigenous products, stressing the need to strengthen the economy and protect public interest.
He concluded by honoring the sacrifices of freedom fighters and encouraging collective action to build a resilient, self-sufficient nation.
