Train Services Disrupted in Khurda Road Division for Modernisation Work
East Coast Railway has announced temporary train cancellations and route changes between 27–30 August 2026 due to safety‑related modernisation work on the Kenduapada–Bhadrak–Cuttack section under Khurda Road Division.
The project aims to commission a third line to ease congestion and improve punctuality across this busy corridor.
Several MEMU and Express trains will be cancelled, short‑terminated, or short‑originated during this period.
Key affected services include Kataka–Bhadrak MEMU, Kharagpur–Khordha Road Express, and Jajpur Kendujhar Road–Kharagpur Express.
Railway authorities have advised passengers to check the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or the official Indian Railways website for real‑time updates before starting their journey.
While the disruption may cause inconvenience, officials emphasise that the modernisation will significantly enhance safety and efficiency in the long run.
