Titlagarh MLA Fires Blank Rounds During Ram Navami, PSO Suspended

In a dramatic turn of events during the Ram Navami procession at Shastrichowk, Titlagarh MLA Naveen Jain fired three blank rounds into the air, assisted by his personal security officer (PSO) Premchand Nag.

The incident, witnessed by police and captured on video, quickly went viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage.

Balangir SP Abhilash J confirmed that the weapon used was real and immediately suspended the PSO. A case has been registered against both Jain and Nag.

The investigation is being led by Additional SP Himanshu Behera and Titlagarh IIC Manoj Munda. Police later visited Jain’s office, but the MLA avoided media questions.

While some reports suggested the use of a toy gun, no official statement has verified this claim.

The controversy has reignited debates about political conduct during religious events.

Jain, who has previously faced allegations of shielding accused in attempted murder cases, now finds himself at the centre of yet another storm.
