Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today, July 9: As rain intensity eases in Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning in certain areas of the state over the next two days.
Thunderstorms with lightning are expected in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati on July 9, and in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar on July 10.
Bhubaneswar and Puri may see a cloudy sky with occasional spells of rain or thundershowers on July 9. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely in various parts of the state until July 12.
The IMD has also predicted heavy rain in isolated places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal districts on July 13.
While no further weather warnings have been issued beyond this period, light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur across many areas of the state in the subsequent two days.
