Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today) Jan 28 : A 15-year-old boy allegedly ended his life following an argument with his mother over mobile gaming in Chardihariharpur village under Kuanrmunda police station in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
The deceased, identified as Dinabandhu, son of Surendra Kisan, was a Class X student preparing for his board exams. According to sources, on Saturday evening, Dinabandhu was engrossed in mobile games instead of studying. His mother reprimanded him, urging him to focus on his studies.
Upset by the scolding, Dinabandhu locked himself in his study room. When he failed to come out for an extended period, his worried family broke open the door, only to find him hanging from the ceiling with a scarf.
The tragic incident has left the family and the community in shock. Police registered a case of unnatural death and conducted a post-mortem before handing over the body to the grieving family. Authorities are investigating further, while counselors and social workers emphasize the importance of parental guidance and emotional support to prevent such incidents.
