Subhadra Scheme Funds to Reach 4.57 Lakh Women in Odisha This Week
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development Minister Pravati Parida has announced that financial assistance under the Subhadra Scheme will be credited to beneficiaries’ accounts this week.
A total of 4,57,681 women across the state will receive support, marking a significant expansion of the flagship women empowerment program.
Among them, 1,78,398 new beneficiaries will get Rs 5,000 for the first time, while 2,55,265 women who were previously excluded due to application errors have now been included.
The Subhadra Scheme provides eligible women with Rs 10,000 annually, disbursed in two instalments of Rs 5,000 each, aimed at strengthening financial independence and supporting family welfare.
Minister Parida emphasised that earlier discrepancies in applications have been resolved, ensuring wider coverage and smoother implementation.
The announcement has sparked joy among women across Odisha, reinforcing the scheme’s role as a symbol of empowerment and financial security.
The government has also indicated plans to expand the scheme further in the coming days, bringing more women under its ambit.
