Special OTET 2025 Paper Leak: Six Arrested in Major Exam Scam

(OT Webdesk)In a major breakthrough, Odisha Crime Branch has arrested six individuals for their alleged involvement in leaking question papers for the Special OTET-2025 examination.

The arrests followed a formal complaint by Bulbul Behera, Establishment Officer at the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.

The exam, scheduled for July 20, was abruptly postponed after handwritten replicas of the question papers surfaced on social media platforms late on July 19.

Investigators traced the leak to Jitan Moharana, a data entry operator at BSE Cuttack, who allegedly accessed official systems to obtain and circulate the papers.

Among the accused are Bijaya Kumar Mishra and Sanatan Bisoi, senior office bearers of the State Ex-Cadre Teachers Association, along with brokers Ramjee Prasad Gupta, Ajay Kumar Sahu, and Jayanta Kumar Rout.

The leaked papers were reportedly sold to candidates seeking regularisation and pay hikes, with transactions involving lakhs of rupees in both cash and digital formats.

Electronic evidence, including mobile phones and paper copies, has been seized. All six accused were produced before the JMFC-III Court in Cuttack.

Authorities are now probing district-level links and additional suspects in what is shaping up to be a widespread scam.
