Shalini Pandit Appointed Joint Secretary in Department of Financial Services
In a significant administrative development, Shalini Pandit, a 2001-batch IAS officer from the Odisha cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
The appointment, announced by the Department of Personnel and Training, will be effective from the date she assumes charge and will span five years or until further orders.
Currently serving as Secretary in the School and Mass Education Department, Pandit also holds additional charge of the Mission Shakti Department. Her career has been marked by key leadership roles, including her tenure as Secretary of the Health & Family Welfare Department and Mission Director of the National Health Mission.
Pandit earned widespread acclaim for her decisive leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, steering Odisha through one of its most challenging public health crises. Her appointment to DFS is expected to bring strategic insight and seasoned governance to the department’s financial initiatives.
