Saraswati Puja Celebrated Across Odisha with Student-Led Rituals and Devotion
Bhubaneswar: Odisha witnessed vibrant celebrations of Saraswati Puja on Magha Shukla Panchami, with schools, colleges, and communities across the state paying homage to Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of wisdom and learning.
From rural villages to bustling cities, devotees gathered to offer prayers and participate in rituals. Educational institutions played a central role, organising special ceremonies that highlighted the festival’s deep connection with learning and culture.
A unique highlight this year was at Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Unit-8, where students themselves conducted the puja instead of a priest.
With discipline and devotion, they chanted hymns, performed rituals, and led the proceedings.
The initiative was praised by the principal, who noted that such practices instil confidence, responsibility, and respect for tradition among young learners.
Parents and local residents lauded the student-led rituals, calling them a refreshing and inspiring approach to cultural preservation.
The celebrations not only reinforced devotion but also showcased the evolving role of students in shaping meaningful traditions.
