Sambalpur Teen’s Suspicious Death Raises Property Dispute Allegations
Sambalpur witnessed a shocking incident on December 4 when a 16-year-old girl, Sai Shraddha Mishra of Shanti Nagar under Ainthapali police limits, was found unconscious in a drain and later declared dead at the District Headquarters Hospital.
Her uncle, Asit Kumar Nanda, alleged that Shraddha was murdered by relatives over property disputes.
He further claimed that Shraddha’s mother had died under similar circumstances in 2017, but the case was ignored due to pressure. Nanda has demanded a strict investigation and immediate action against those responsible.
Local residents, who discovered Shraddha in the drain, expressed deep concern over repeated suspicious deaths in the family. Injuries on her face have raised suspicions of foul play.
Police officer P.K. Swain confirmed that a case has been registered based on the complaint and that the investigation is underway. He stated that the truth will emerge after the post-mortem report.
The incident has shocked the community, with residents demanding accountability and transparency in the probe.
Authorities are now examining evidence and questioning suspects to determine whether the death was a murder or an accident.
This case highlights growing concerns about law enforcement effectiveness in Sambalpur and the urgent need for stronger measures to ensure justice and prevent further tragedies.
