Sambalpur Senior Revenue Assistant Under Vigilance Scanner for Disproportionate Assets
Odisha Vigilance officials on Tuesday launched simultaneous raids at four locations linked to Basudev Bhoi, Senior Revenue Assistant at the Office of the Settlement Officer, Major Settlement, Sambalpur.
The searches, conducted on December 24, 2025, followed allegations that Bhoi had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Acting on warrants issued by the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur, a team led by two Deputy Superintendents of Police and eight Inspectors examined properties and documents across Sambalpur and Bargarh districts.
Premises under scrutiny included Bhoi’s double‑storied residence in Bargarh, a building at Charbhati in Sambalpur, his parental house in Bargarh, and his office in Sambalpur.
Officials inspected property records, financial documents, and other materials to assess the scale of alleged irregularities.
The raids drew significant public attention as vigilance officers carried out simultaneous inspections across multiple sites.
The investigation is part of Odisha Vigilance’s ongoing drive to root out corruption in government offices and ensure accountability.
Further updates are expected once officials complete their assessment and release detailed findings.
