Rourkela Half Marathon 2026 Unites 5,000 Runners in Celebration of Health and Community
Rourkela witnessed an electrifying atmosphere on January 24, 2026, as nearly 5,000 runners participated in the Rourkela Half Marathon, organised by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) to mark SAIL Foundation Day.
The event brought together athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and citizens from diverse walks of life, reinforcing the city’s growing culture of health and wellness.
Union Minister Jual Oram, Rourkela MLA Sarada Prasad Nayak, Sundergarh Collector Dr Subhankar Mohapatra, Western Range DIG Brijesh Rai, and RSP Director in Charge Alok Verma flagged off the marathon, praising RSP’s initiative in promoting fitness and community bonding.
With medical support from Apollo Hospital and robust safety arrangements, the marathon unfolded smoothly, cheered on by enthusiastic spectators.
