Rayagada Police Crack Penta Shiva Temple Theft Case
Rayagada district police have successfully solved the theft case at the historic Penta Shiva Temple.
On the night of August 25–26, miscreants broke into the temple, stealing idols and puja items.
Acting swiftly on intelligence inputs, Chandili police arrested three accused — Manoj Durga and Paban Ganta of Nuapada, and Allu Harekrishna of Amlabhata.
The accused confessed to the crime, leading to the recovery of Lord Shiva’s idol (13.96 kg), Goddess Parvati’s idol (7.26 kg), a brass Panchamukhi Naga idol (5.62 kg), Rs 1,250 cash, and broken brass and copper materials.
Police also seized a Piaggio auto and a Bajaj Pulsar bike used in the theft.
Rayagada SDPO Gourahari Sahu and Chandili IIC Uttam Kumar Sahu briefed the media, confirming that all three accused have been forwarded to court.
