Ratna Bhandar Inventory Resumes at Puri Jagannath Temple

Puri, April 16: The inventory of valuables inside the Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath Temple resumed today under strict supervision and will continue until April 18, 2026.

During the process, devotees are barred from entering the inner sanctum (Bhitar Katha) and can only have darshan from the outer barricades.

The exercise is being overseen by Justice Biswanath Rath, chairman of the inspection committee, with keys brought from the treasury in the presence of a magistrate.

Officials are employing 3D mapping, photography, videography, and detailed documentation to ensure transparency.

The inner Ratna Bhandar reportedly holds 367 types of gold ornaments and 231 types of silver ornaments, with over 20 ornaments verified on the first day.

The outer Ratna Bhandar inventory was completed on March 25, 2026, while the inner treasury verification began on April 13, 2026. The entire exercise is expected to conclude by April 18, 2026.
