Rajnath Singh Condemns IMF’s $2.1 Billion Bailout for Pakistan

IMF funding to Pakistan

Bhubaneswar, May 16, 2025  ( OT Webdesk)– India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has strongly criticized the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for its latest financial aid to Pakistan, claiming it indirectly fuels terrorism.

Speaking at the Bhuj Air Force Station, Singh called the $2.1 billion bailout package a move that enables state-sponsored terror against India.

Singh’s remarks come in response to recent missile and drone attacks by Pakistan on Indian civilian and military sites.

In retaliation, the Indian Air Force (IAF) executed precision strikes targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Addressing Air Force personnel, Singh urged international institutions to rethink financial assistance to nations involved in terrorism.

He praised the IAF’s swift response, highlighting the strategic importance of Bhuj Air Force Station in India’s defense operations.

The bailout is part of a $7 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) deal signed with Pakistan last year.

While aimed at stabilizing Pakistan’s economy, the move has sparked concerns in India, with critics arguing that the funds indirectly support terror activities against the country.

India continues to demand greater accountability in international financial aid to ensure that such funds are not misused.
