Rajinikanth’s Coolie Smashes Global Box Office, Becomes No.1 Worldwide

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the action-packed thriller raked in Rs 194.25 crore net (Rs 233 crore gross) in India and an additional $18 million (Rs 160 crore) overseas, totaling Rs 393 crore ($45 million) globally in just four days.

The film’s rapid ascent marks it as the fastest Tamil movie to cross Rs 100 crore, with projections indicating it will soon breach Rs 200 crore domestically. Coolie outperformed major Hollywood and Bollywood releases including Weapons, Nobody 2, and War 2, solidifying its dominance across international markets.

Featuring Rajinikanth as a retired porter drawn into a gangster’s world, the film boasts a stellar ensemble cast—Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Soubin Shahir—with a special cameo by Aamir Khan.

With record-breaking openings in North America, the UK, and Australia, Coolie is being hailed as a landmark moment for Tamil cinema on the global stage.
