Puri Shankaracharya Raises Concern Over Ratna Bhandar Inventory

Puri Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati has voiced serious concern over the ongoing inventory of the Ratna Bhandar, the sacred treasury of the Jagannath Temple.

He stated that neither the temple administration nor district authorities informed or consulted him about the process, despite Supreme Court guidelines mandating his involvement in key temple decisions.

The Shankaracharya criticised the lack of transparency and coordination, questioning why his role was overlooked in such a sensitive matter.

He emphasised that the inventory of Ratna Bhandar is not merely administrative but carries immense cultural, historical, and religious significance.

As of now, the temple administration has not responded to his remarks.

The inventory exercise, aimed at documenting the valuables stored in the treasury, is expected to continue in phases over the coming weeks.
