Prof. Pravat Kumar Roul Gets Three-Year Extension as OUAT Vice-Chancellor

Bhubaneswar, Sept 9 — In a significant move for Odisha’s agricultural education sector, Prof. Pravat Kumar Roul has been granted a three-year extension as Vice-Chancellor of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).

The announcement was made by Chancellor Hari Babu Kambhampati, with the extension effective from September 9, 2025.

Prof. Roul, an alumnus of OUAT, first assumed the Vice-Chancellor role in 2022. His tenure has been marked by strategic reforms in agricultural research, education, and extension services.

The extension, formalised through a letter from the Special Secretary to the Chancellor, ensures his leadership continues until 2028 or until further orders under the OUAT Act, 1965.

With a distinguished career that includes roles such as Managing Director of APICOL, Dean (Extension), Dean (Veterinary), and Director of Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation, Prof. Roul is widely respected for his contributions to institutional development and innovation.

The extension is expected to bolster OUAT’s ongoing initiatives in sustainable agriculture, rural development, and academic excellence across Odisha.
