Pravati Parida Launches Baristha Nagarik Tirtha Yatra Yojana
Bhubaneswar, July 14: Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida today launched the official guidelines for the Baristha Nagarik Tirtha Yatra Yojana 2026–27 at Paryatan Bhawan.
The scheme, designed to support senior citizens in undertaking pilgrimages across India, reflects the Odisha Government’s commitment to inclusive governance and spiritual welfare.
Since its inception, the program has enabled more than 45,555 senior citizens to visit sacred destinations nationwide.
For the upcoming edition, applications will be accepted between 15 July and 14 August 2026 through the portal yatra.odisha.gov.in (yatra.odisha.gov.in in Bing) and prescribed offline channels.
The guidelines outline eligibility criteria, application procedures, selection processes, and operational modalities to ensure safe and dignified travel.
Senior officials including Shri Balwant Singh (Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary, Tourism), Shri Deepankar Mohapatra (Director, Tourism), and Anuj Dutta (Regional Officer, IRCTC Bhubaneswar) were present at the launch.
The scheme is positioned as a symbol of Odisha’s dedication to ensuring that age or financial constraints do not hinder spiritual aspirations.
