PM Modi Calls Youth Power Key to Viksit Bharat in Independence Day Address
For the first time since Independence, the iconic song Vande Mataram reverberated through the Red Fort on August 15, commemorating 150 years of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s timeless composition.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the Tricolour and delivered his 13th consecutive Independence Day address, calling the moment “historic.”
In his speech, Modi paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and revolutionary freedom fighters, highlighting their sacrifices as the foundation of India’s journey.
He emphasised the role of Yuva Shakti (youth power) in shaping Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.
The celebration included a 21‑gun salute, cultural performances, and participation from 2,500 cadets and My Bharat volunteers.
Thousands of special guests from diverse backgrounds witnessed the ceremony, which blended tradition with a forward‑looking vision for the nation.
